Hybrid Boardwalks

The Look of Timber, the Strength of Recycled Plastic.

Hybrid boardwalks combine the structural reliability of recycled plastic with the natural appearance of timber decking.

The sub-structure is formed from recycled plastic posts and joists, giving long-term resistance to rot and ground moisture. On top, Douglas Fir deck boards provide a traditional timber finish, complete with integrated anti-slip strips for safer access in all weather conditions.

This system is often chosen for heritage sites, countryside trails and visitor attractions where visual character matters, but durability still can’t be compromised.

Guide cost: £150–£200 per square metre

Hybrid systems offer a practical middle ground. You get the reassurance of a plastic structure with the warmth of timber underfoot.
