The Dual Adjustment K Barrier is a heavy-duty motorcycle inhibitor designed to prevent illegal motorbike and scooter access to footpaths, parks and housing estates while maintaining safe access for pedestrians, wheelchair users and cyclists.

Developed for councils and landowners tackling antisocial motorbike use, this anti-motorbike barrier restricts motorcycle handlebars through adjustable squeeze plates, without blocking compliant users.

Its post-installation adjustable gap width allows access control to be fine-tuned without removing posts or disturbing existing surfacing, making it ideal for retrofit projects and sensitive public realm environments.

The adjustable gap width is from 370mm to 750mm and is set on site. A gap set at 575mm is common, restricting  a typical motorcycle handlebar width (approx. 700-800mm), while retaining the 815mm minimum clear width recommended for wheelchair access.

Manufactured from galvanised steel with tamper-resistant fixings, it provides a long-term solution to prevent unauthorised motorcycle access and reduce anti-social behaviour in shared spaces.

What gap width should I set on a Dual Adjustment K Barrier?

575mm is the most common setting. It’s narrow enough to stop a typical motorcycle handlebar of 700–800mm, while leaving the 815mm minimum clear width recommended for wheelchair users. The barrier adjusts anywhere between 370mm and 750mm, so you can tune it to the site rather than the other way round.

Can the gap be changed after installation?

Yes, and this is the point of the design. Most barriers are fixed once concreted in, so changing the gap means digging out posts and making good the surfacing. The Dual Adjustment K Barrier is adjusted in place, without lifting tarmac or disturbing the path.

Will wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies still get through?

Yes. At typical settings the barrier passes wheelchairs, mobility scooters and twin buggies. The squeeze plates use a gentle curve and safety edging so there are no sharp edges for legitimate users, and high-visibility labels warn users with impaired vision.

What finishes are available and what’s the lead time?

Galvanised is a stock item. Colour powder coating is available in 7–10 working days, in any RAL colour to match an existing scheme. The stainless steel squeeze plates are left uncoated.
