The Timber Bison Bridge Kit is a traditional and aesthetically pleasing pedestrian bridge solution designed for seamless integration into parklands, estates, and rural Public Rights of Way.

Bison Timber bridges have 3 steel structural beams with redwood deck boards, parapets and hand rails.Based on single span galvanised steel beams and timber (or recycled plastic) deck and parapet components. We provide a non-complicated approach to long-lasting pedestrian bridges, up to 16 metres length.

All Bison timber bridges are designed in accordance with BS EN 1990:2002+A1:2005 (Eurocode basis of structural design) and BS EN 1991-2:2003 (Eurocode 1: Actions on structures). Pedestrian and cycle bridges are designed for a crowd loading of 5.0 kN per square metre.

Can timber bridge kits be used for bridleways?

How long does a timber bridge last?

Galvanised steel beams with 85-micron zinc coating provide an initial service life of approximately 56 years before major maintenance is required in typical inland UK locations. Redwood timber decking is pressure-treated for extended service life. Regular inspections are recommended.
